This is how my journey began…

I have had many dogs over the years and gained valuable training information along the way.  The dogs I currently have, have been a bit challenging with their behavior “quirks” as I like to call them such as noise sensitivity, aggression and leash reactivity to name a few.  In 2003 I started my own pet-sitting business which I thoroughly enjoyed but I felt I needed something more challenging, like my own dog issues weren’t enough! I sold my business after 8 years and started volunteering at a local animal shelter. I volunteered in many areas at the shelter one of which was dog training.  Dog training was amazing because I was able to use all the information I had gathered while volunteering along with my personal experiences and pass it on to other dog owners and see how wonderfully the training worked. I also want to help families understand the importance of socializing and training before behaviors escalate to the point that they feel surrendering the dog is the only solution.

There are not many jobs that you get to see from beginning to end but dog training happens to be one of them, I was hooked!  I soon realized that dog training in a classroom was a bit challenging and also difficult for the dog owner and their families.  It was then that I had my “Ahah” moment and decided to take all my training and valuable information I had acquired and take dog training on the road straight to your home; Home Schooling for Your Pet was born!

Established in 2017, Homeschooling for Your Pet is a locally owned dog behavior training service provider dedicated to helping pet owners address their pets’ behavior and other issues without having to leave the comfort of their home. I’ve made a wide range of dog training services as convenient as possible for our clients by offering mobile pet training straight to your location.

I am so thankful for these 3 dogs among others; that have taught and helped me become the dog trainer I am today.

I cater to the needs of pet owners and their pets who cannot travel for dog training services. I am a Force Free trainer and use positive reinforcement when working with your pets. I set up custom training courses which simulate classroom training, but in the comfort of the client’s home.
